The '26-27 Season of Semi Pro Pickleball will be played at Pickleball Prime in Mineola.

Semi Pro is a tournament series that consists of 1 tournament per month over a 7 month period. Each tournament crowns its own podium while also awarding points toward the overall season standings. While the tournaments are interconnected, you do not need to play in every tournament to be part of the series. There are 2 divisions, open and women-only. Each tournament features 6 round robin 'switcholio style' matches (random partner and opponents each game). Then all players advance to a single elimination tournament. The preseason meet-and-greet tournament as well as the Mid Season Balls and Dolls tournament will crown a podium but will not count towards to Semi Pro standings.

Semi Pro is a series of events and collection of players who enjoy a competitive challenge while being part of a welcoming group.

What is Semi Pro? Semi Pro is a monthly tournament concept that brings together a collection of players who enjoy a competitive challenge while being part of a welcoming group.

Why? Semi Pro gives you something to play for beyond a single night. Over the course of the season, you’ll get to know the other players, develop rivalries and see where you stack up. It combines the competitive challenge of tournament play with the community of playing with the same group month after month.

Divisions: There are separate Open and Women only divisions. Women who have ELOs in the top 20% of the women-only division can opt to play in the Open Division. If a woman's ELO is in the bottom 20% of the open division, she will not be allowed to play in the open division in back-to-back tournaments.

How Semi Pro Pickleball Works: Tournaments are doubles and played 'Indy style'. In pool play, everyone will play 6 games with randomized partners and opponents every game. Every player will advance to a single elimination tournament. Playoff teams are formed by allowing the highest pool play finisher to pick their teammate from the available pool and so forth until teams are made. The tournament will play to award a podium. We bring snacks/drinks and do raffles at every tournament.

• Series Players: Series Players have opted in to pay an upfront charge of $50 and receive a $15 discount on every tournament as well as a free entry to the meet-and-greet tournament. This option is the better deal for players who can play in at least 4 tournaments.
• Tournament Players: They pay $50 per tournament. This option is better for players who can make 3 or less tournaments.
• Guest Players: Guest players participate on a trial basis. They may be used to achieve even numbers in each division.

Tournament Attendance: It is not required to attend every tournament.

How the Tournaments Connect: Players will have individual Semi Pro ELOs which will rank them in the overall standings.

Grand Finale: The 7th and final tournament is called the Grand Finale. It has a slightly different format and will determine the ultimate winners of Semi Pro. There may be a requirement set of a minimum number of tournaments played in order to participate in the Grand Finale.
