Unless otherwise stated, this league follows all official FIFA rules.

The Game

  • Games must begin on time.
  • Games consist of two 30 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime.
  • There is no offside rule.

  • Regular league games may end in ties.
  • In the event of a tie during playoffs the game will go into two five minute periods of golden goal overtime. If the game remains tied each team will choose three players to take penalty kicks.

  • In the event that any players feels they have grounds to petition a game they can speak to the league commissioners who will look into the situation

  • 3 men and 3 women per team take the field.
  • No team may play with less than 4 players.
  • Using unregistered players as subs during the regular season is allowed provided:
    • The team has less than 6 players to field.
    • Teams must first use all of their female players. If they would still have less than 6 players then they may bring in a male sub.
    • If a team has less than 3 female players for a week they may immediately bring in a female sub.
    • If using an unregistered player, the team captain must inform the opposing captain and league commissioner before the game.
    • Unregistered players may never be used in playoffs.

  • Substitutions can be made by either team at any point in which the play has been stopped (i.e. throw in, free kick, corner kick).
  • The referee must be made aware that the substitution is being made and play cannot resume until the players have left the field.

Penalty Kicks

  • All penalty and free kicks are indirect kicks.

  • This is a recreational league and cards can be given for excessively physical play.
  • Giving cards is at the discretion of the referee.
  • A yellow card for any intentional foul will result in the team having to play down that player for a five minute period. The team will not be allowed to substitute a new player in for this player.
  • A red card will result in the expulsion of that player for the remainder of the game. More sanction may occur based upon a review of the infraction.
  • Only the team captain may approach the referee to debate a call. Any other player who does so is subject to a yellow card
