• No new incoming players accepted
• Oct 16 @6pm: Cuts (1 max) and withdrawals due.
• Oct 23: @5pm: Roster Lock
• Oct 23: @6pm Draft (Permanent and Supplemental)
• (If replacing core players for the Grand Finale, you can only replace 'half +.5' of your core.)

Roster Min is 7m/5f with min of 13 total

Roster Cap is 8m/6f.

Semi Pro Rules

• 6m/4f on the field
• Batting order is 'straight through'
• Max 2 men kicking in a row
• No Mercy rule
• Max 6 run differential reported
• Pace of play strike immediately
• Players running late can be in the lineup. Teams take an 'out' if their absence makes the lineup illegal.

Game Times

• Captains meeting at 6:30pm
• Pool play games are 6-innings with 55 minute time slots (No new inning after 45 minutes. HARD stop at 50 minutes)
• Score reverts to score of last full inning if hitting hard cap unless the home team is winning.
• Pool play games can end in ties.
• Tiebreakers are h2h (if 'clean') -> runs against -> run differential -> ELO

Special Grand Finale Rules

The October Tournament groups are made the same way (1/4/5 and 2/3/6)

The difference for the Finale is the crossovers are ‘high-low’ so the higher seeds have the advantage. Cross overs are 1v6, 2v5 and 3v4

So the schedule would be 

• 1 Plays 4/5/6
• 2 Plays 3/5/6
• 3 Plays 2/4/6
• 4 Plays 1/3/5
• 5 Plays 1/2/4
• 6 Plays 1/2/3

4th Time Slot, Relegation Game: The losers of each pool play a 9-inning ‘relegation’ game. The loser of the relegation game is disbanded from Semi Pro.

4th Time Slot: Championship: The winners of each pool play for the 9-inning Semi Pro Championship. The winner of this not only wins October, but also wins Semi Pro 2024 and keeps the chain.    

No Semi Finals: The winners of the pools go directly to the championship without having to win a semi final game. I’ve proposed this because the highest seeds have the rightful advantage of the easiest schedule and adding a semi-final round cuts into the scheduling advantage earned by the highest seeds. This also creates 2 ‘all eyes’ games for the relegation game championship Therefore the two second place teams do not have a 4th game. .  

Closing

This proposal gives all 6 franchises a reason to be there and a chance to win, while ceding an advantage to the teams who have played the best over the course of the full series. It also is a ‘first over the line’ proposal in which the team who wins October, also wins Semi Pro and does not create a situation where a team might lose October, but still win Semi Pro because of another ranking, and no team’s fate is sealed no matter how bad their full series record is.
