This is a 12 inch clincher league. Clincher balls are softer, easier to hit, and don't fly as hard/far as other softballs.
Teams play two 6-innings game per night
Games that are tied will play 1 extra inning (time permitting). Games can end in a tie.
Bases are 60 feet apart

Registration is open to anyone who wants to sign up. Gender ratios will be established based on the ratio of men:women that signup for the league.
Teams will bat in a ratio equivalent to the gender ratio. Example, if the gender ratio is 2:1. Teams will bat 2 men in a row, then 1 girl.
Teams will field in a ratio equivalent to the gender ratio. Example, if the gender ratio is 2:1, Teams will field 6 men and 4 women.
Teams must field with a minimum of 1 girl in the infield, and 1 girl in the outfield.

Bats should be on the USA Softball approved list
Teams bat their lineup straight through in adherence to the gender ratio to the best of their ability.
At bats start with a 1-1 count
Batters receive one courtesy foul on a third strike foul.
Run limit = 5 per inning
No run limit in the last inning if trailing.
A trailing team can call a game early in order to start the second game of a double header.
A male batter will receive a 2-base walk if he is walked with a female on deck.
A baserunner may call for a courtesy runner, which would be the last batter out of the same gender.

This is a strike mat league, a strike will be foul if a legal pitch hands on any part of the plate or strike mat.
Pitchers must throw underhand slow pitch
A legal pitch has a 3-10 foot arc

Outfielders are prohibited from entering the infield before a ball is contacted.
A team with only 9 players can use a batting player as their catcher.

Port Washington

Minimum of 10 players per team
F12 Clincher is the official softball of the league (only ball used)
Each team will play one doubleheader per week
Games will be 7 innings with a maximum time limit of 1 hour, 15 minutes (no new inning can start after 1 hour of play)
A minimum of 2 women are required on the field and in the batting order each game.
At least 1 woman must bat within the first 4 batters in the lineup. There are no other lineup requirements.
At least 1 woman must play an infield position and one woman must play an outfield position.
All players on the field must bat and all batters must play at least one inning in the field.
Underhand slowpitch (6' to 12') arc softball (no quick pitch, high arch, or flat pitches)
Each at-bat will start with a 1 and 1 count (1 ball/1 strike)
If a team does not have a team captain and manager, one will be appointed by the league.
