Why I First Started LI-Kick: When I moved back to Long Island after college, I created a kickball league to meet new people, since then it has been the greatest joy of my life

Advice for New Players: LI-Kick is more than a Sports League. you're wasting your money if you only stick around for the game. go to the after-party, meet people, and check out weekly events

WELCOME TO EUROPEAN HANDBALL!

We're back and better than ever. The weather may be getting colder outside, but things are gonna be heating up this season. Whether you played handball with LI-KICK last season...or this is your first time...y'all are in for a treat.

In case you've never played European Handball before, or it's been a while, here's a quick breakdown of the rules:

  • This league is 'open' meaning there are no gender requirements
  • Games will last 4o minutes. Two 18-min halves with a 4 minute break in between.
  • Teams will play 5-on-5 (Goalie + 4)
  • A player possessing the ball must release the ball after 3 seconds and/or 3 steps
  • A player can take 1 dribble to reset the 3 seconds/3 steps
  • No kicking allowed
  • Only goalie is allowed in the crease

Frequently Asked Questions

Nope! Most of our leagues and tournaments allow you to join as a free agent or with one or with a group of friends (while being kept together), in fact, most first time players join this way. When you register we'll ask a few simple questions and we'll do our best to fill out your roster with players like you. That said, the free agent pool for some leagues, like cornhole are limited so your best bet is to join with a friend and form a complete team.

Generally, registration covers the cost of equipment, facility use, umpires/refs and a team shirt. You'll also be given access to the various social events we host and sponsor throughout the year.
