Wow! I can't believe this season is over already. It was a quick and fun 7 weeks and it was such a pleasure having fun with all of you. LI-Kick is a big part of my life and I hope this season was an enjoyable experience.
Last night's games were a phenomenal way to finish out the season. Evan G. had first pick in the A-bracket and chose Chris B. Evan & Chris consistently played on court 1 this season and Evan barely moved from court 1! Chris & Evan were successful in their playoff games against David H. & John R. However, David H. & John R put up an excellent fight in the second playoff game losing just 11-7. Chris & Evan faced off against Sal F Jr. & Peter D in the championships while Sal Sr. & Bobby S. dinked it out against David H. & John R. for that sweet third place (which ended up being a tie).
I couldn't stop watching Sal F Jr. & Peter vs. Chris & Evan. Those were two of the closest games I have ever seen in pickleball. Ultimately, Sal F Jr. & Peter D. took home the championship after two intense games of 12-10. Chris & Evan were frequently down a few points but were able to come back quickly and tie up the game. Both teams were very deserving of their spots this season.
Aleksandr K. & Ryan T. took home the B-bracket championship for bragging rights and LI-Kick water bottles. The B-bracket was a lot of fun to watch too as many of these players were 'rookies' to our Glenwood Landing league.
Once again, thank you for showing up each week and playing your best. Life can get in the way and it's not always easy to show up. But, many of you showed up each week ready to play and I hope you had fun doing so. Hope to see ya out on the court sometime soon.
