I first wanted to thank everyone for a GREAT season. It was so nice to play alongside everyone at 7 PM, I had a blast! I hope you did too. I loved meeting all our new players and seeing all the returning players every week.
This season has been full of ups and downs for the 8 PM crowd, there have been a ton of top players that missed weeks due to work, vacation, and other conflicts so the top 8 was a great mix this season. I love to see new players in the top and Debbie D was our only Rookie player there this season. Nice job Debbie! Previous champs Rex and Matt teamed up as the top seed playing Debbie and Rob in the first round. Unfortunately, Debbie and Rob couldn't pull out an upset, although you know I always root for the underdogs. On court 2 Wade and Courtney teamed up to play against Emily and Russ. They fought hard but just couldn't get more points on the board. The final games of Rex & Matt vs Wade & Courtney were ones I didn't want to miss. Going into it if you asked me who I thought was going to win I wouldn't have been able to give you an answer. The hit, dinks, and placement of the balls during the two games were incredible. In the end, 1 point decided it all, the two games' cumulative scores came out to Rex & Matt: 18, Wade & Courtney 17. The games were well played, everyone deserves congrats and a pat on the back. Over on courts 3 and 4, we had the B bracket, congrats to Jessica and Kevin on their first-place finish! They tied their games against Mark B and Nick S and went into an overtime tiebreaker. Jessica and Kevin scored 3 points first to win their bracket.
