We're back with another season of kickball! Welcome back to all our returning players- those off weeks flew by! To all our new players- Welcome to the party, we're happy to have ya!
Here's what to expect on Night 1:
- You will meet your teammates and receive a team shirt. Wear cleats if you have them. If you miss week 1, ask your team captain to hold your shirt.
- Game times are 7:30 and 8:30. Please arrive early to find your field and meet your team. We will be starting on time.
- We have 15 teams and double headers on all 4 fields. For 7:30 games, no new inning may begin after 8:30.
- At the end of the night, make your way down to our sponsor bar, The Downtown Cafe! (4 School Street). There is where you will relax and unwind while making new friends/frenemies. I do not advise you skip out if you are here to make friends!!! We'll have weekly bar games to earn your team bar points. The team with the most Bar points at the end of the season will be named BAR CHAMPS!
Our league has 15 teams this season, and is divided into 2 divisions- Championship and Recreational. The "Championship" division is made up of 7 teams that opted to play competitively or placed in the top half of the league last season. These are the only teams who can qualify to play in the Championship game at the end of the season. Since there is an odd number of teams in this division, each team will play 1 double header in the first 5 weeks of the season. Week 6 will begin playoffs. The "Recreational" division is made up of 8 teams- new teams or teams that finished in the bottom half of the spring standings.
We have 3,071 people in our sport specific Facebook Groups. I highly suggest you join your sport's group and join the conversation. Players use groups to to look for teammates, find subs and chat about tournaments. Join your group.
Theme Week starts August 1st. This season's theme is BEACH PARTY. Theme week is a massive competition between all teams in LI-Kick. Last season 75 teams participated. Your old theme week pics are in your Locker Room.
